The days Adventured started off by getting lost in Detroit thanks to George my GPS , he has never been to good at giving directions but we trusted him to get us there and well he did get us in the general area of the Science center but we were on our own after he pointed us in the right direction. We arrived in time to beat the rain.
Once inside it was a quick observation of mine that Jeff was more excited than anyone to be at the Science Center. His eyes lit up like he was five years old and Ean was extremely excited all all the buttons he could push, not exactly at what the buttons did but just at the fact that there were buttons.
I myself have been to the Science Center Many times and one of my biggest complaints about it is that a large portion of the exhibits do not work. I understand that hundreds or people walk through there everyday but I still feel that I am paying to have a Membership that some point throughout the year the Exhibit should work. One thing they do which I like is switch up the shows I have yet to experience the Toyota Engineering theater which is a 4D experience. It wasn't as great as I thought it could be but it was still entertaining you get sprayed with water, your seats move in all sorts of directions and they blow wind and scents at you at different times during the show.
The Traveling Exhibit was by far the greatest part of the Trip DINOSAURS ALIVE!!!! RAWWWWWWWR I was the most excited to see this and was jumping up and down asking about 5 different times to the entire group if it was time to go see the dinosaurs yet. When we finally made it up there , I was very happy to see all the moving dinosaurs bigger than life right in my face. Once again some of the interactive parts of the exhibit did not work but the parts that did work were the important ones. The dinosaurs were huge the moved and RAWWWRD in your face. The facts were interesting and they even had new dinosaurs that were just recently discovered in China. This was not the same display that was at the ZOO last year.
The exhibit was $10 extra but it included your choice of an IMAX movie , as a group we decided to go with the DINO movie since that was our whole reason for going DINO'S >>>>>>>. The movie was good for being a Museum movie. It was interesting but nothing to exciting. It followed some Paleontologists around a dig site saying that we will never truly know what a Dinosaur sounded like or felt like ...etc..etc . Our last stop of the day was the gift shop. We had to make sure to get my room mate Becky a grow your own Dino. Its a large egg you place in water for 72 hours and then you have you very own baby Dinosaur, I brought one back from a previous trip for myself and she was a little upset that she didn't have one. I dare not leave this time and not have one for her.
Over all I would give the Trip a B+ it was an interesting day I learned a few new facts had few laughs with Friends and Kept the child entertained for an entire day. Success was had!
